Going Around in Circles...

Good morning everyone!

A new challenge starts today over at Try it on Tuesday and the theme is...
Going Around in Circles!
My card features a cute owl image from Vera Lane Studio, it's colored with Copics and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. The background was created by using a smooshing technique with acetate, Lucky Clover, Mowed Lawn & Twisted Citron DOI. I used TCW Mini Circle stencil for the dark green circles, I mixed Twisted Citron ink & modeling paste together and applied it through MFT Confetti stencil for the larger circles and the circle loops were cut with a SSS die.

Now head on over to the main challenge blog and check out the beautiful creations by the other team members!

Thanks so much for stopping by... I'll see you tomorrow! :)

Be a Cactus in a Delicate World of Flowers

Good morning everyone!

Today I'm sharing another art journal page and this one is inspired by the Southwest. It features several images from Vera Lane Studio's Succulents bundle... what an awesome digital stamp set- you get several potted cactus plants and three sentiments! Perfect for a cactus lover like me! :)
The images were colored with Copics, cut out and I used one of the sentiments included in the set. The background was created with Lucky Clover, Cracked Pistachio and Broken China Distress Oxide inks. I used Delta's Southwest Stencil for all of the different designs/patterns and a tiny sun stamp from Recollections. I also added detailing with white and black Posca pens.
Well, that's it for now... thanks so much for stopping by!
Take care, Tammy

welcome Little One...

Good morning everyone!

Today is the start of a new challenge at Sparkles Monthly and our theme is Babies...
I decided to do something a little different this time and create a inky background instead of using DP. I used Victorian Velvet and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide inks- I really like these two colors together :) The cute giraffe is from Vera Lane Studio and it's colored with Copics. I used a Pink & Main die for the stitched rectangle, a MFT die for the sun, a Lawn Fawn die for the grass and a Avery Elle die for the clouds.

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to pop on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of the teams beautiful cards!

Happy Trails to you Buckaroo...

Good morning everyone!

Today I wanted to share a really fun masculine birthday card with you! It features one of the images out of the 'Wild West' digi bundle from Vera Lane Studio- Isn't that cowboy cute?! And he was so fun to color! With that huge mustache he kinda reminds me of Tom Selleck or maybe Sam Elliott! LOL!
Anyway, for background I added some Faded Jeans Distress Ink to the Numeric (Tim Holtz/Sizzix) embossing folder, spritz it with water and ran it through my Cuttlebug machine using a piece of blue cs. I colored the image with Copics, fussy cut it out and then added detailing with a with Posca pen, the sentiment is from The Cat's Pajamas. I used a Pink & Main die for the stitched rounded rectangle, a Lawn Fawn die for the grass and Taylored Expressions dies for the clouds. I cut the succulents out of a dark brown cs using Spellbinders dies and then I added a few 'star' like flowers to the saguaro cactus.

A couple of mixed media cards...

Hello everyone, happy Monday- I hope you had a nice weekend!

Today I'm sharing a couple of mixed media cards that feature adorable images from Vera Lane Studio! These were really easy to put together because the background panels were already done... I always make several at a time for future cards :)
The cat image is from this set and the llama and flowers are from this set... all images were colored with Copics, fussy cut out and then I added a little detailing with a white Posa Pen. The label sentiments are from Mama Elephant and the stamped sentiment is from Inky Antics.
I used several Distress Oxide inks to create the backgrounds along with stencils, stamps, dies and glitter paste. I also used the 'stamping with embossing folders' technique on both cards with the Kaisercraft's Waffle folder... but this time I just pressed the pattern onto the panel instead of running them through my Cuttlebug machine.

I love how fun and colorful these cards turned out because I'm going to add them to my donation box... I'm sure they will put a smile on someone's face!

Well, that's all for now... thanks so much for stopping by and for all of the comments you leave!

Birthday Succulents...

Good morning everyone and happy Friday!

Today I wanted to share another card that I created with a few of the gorgeous succulent plants from Vera Lane Studio.
The images were colored with Copics, the label sentiment is from Altenew and the stitched rounded rectangle is from Pink & Main. I created a watercolor wash background with Mowed Lawn, Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers Oxide inks. Once dry- I applied more Peacock Feathers ink through Simon Says Stamp Grid stencil.

I love how this card turned out because I used some of my favorite colors and I love succulents! We have several indoor succulent plants, two of them are over 5 feet tall and many are 25+ years old thanks to my husband... he has the green thumb in the family :)

Nail Polish Art for Dad!

Good morning everyone!

Today starts a new challenge at Back to Basics and Beyond and this time we would like you to create a card/project using the Nail Polish Art Technique!

I've never used this technique before and had so much fun playing with my nail polish... I found this tutorial online- it was very easy to follow and she gives great tips.
I created my nail polish marbling with only two colors- a sky blue and lime green, two of my favorite colors. I really like how the lime green thinned out in some areas and turned a yellowish-green. I used a couple of Vera Lane Studio potted cactus plants again, colored them with Copics and fussy cut them out. I used Simon Says Stamp dies for the stitched rectangles and My Favorite Things dies for the sentiment.

I'm going to give this to my dad Sunday for Father's Day and I know he'll get a real kick out of it when I tell him that I used nail polish for the background! :)

That's it for now... thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to pop on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of the teams beautiful 'Nail Polish' creations!
