My first Door Hanger

Happy Friday everyone!

It's Alphabet Challenge time and today's letter is... X for X-periment! We would like you to try a new technique or use materials you've never used before. Well, I've never altered a door hanger before or have I ever used card making materials on wood so I thought I would give it a try :)

I started with a couple coats of cream acrylic paint, after that dried I added a thin layer of One Step Crackle glaze. I applied some texture paste through the Tim Holtz Burlap stencil, after that dried, I sponged the entire hanger with Vintage Photo DI. I wanted a little shine and sparkle so I sprayed it with Krylon Clear gloss and while that was still wet, I added a touch of glamour dust.
Here's a closer look at the crackle effect, texture paste and some of the sparkle.
I stamped one of my favorite poems/verses "Footprints In The Sand" (stamp is from Inkadinkado) with Memento Rich Cocoa and attached it to a Romantic Rectangle nestie. I used the Rose Creations nesties for the flowers, added a coat of Krylon clear gloss and glamour dust to them also. The butterflies were cut with my new Tim Holtz dies and embossed with Shabby White Frantage. The gems, wooden house & hand dyed seam binding are all from my stash... and there you have it- my first altered door hanger!

Now head on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of the DT

Gift Box & Note Pad

Good morning everyone!

It's time for a new challenge at Moving Along With The Times!
This week it's Karina's turn to host and she has challenged us to...
Make a Box and Decorate it
I decided to make a little gift box (thanks for the link Sue!) and alter a note pad! :) The fun flower image is from Bugaboo Stamps and I used Copics for the coloring.  I cropped around the center flower and printed it several times and in different sizes so I could decorate the box.  The papers are from Studio g and the notebook border punch is from EK Success. I use a CB die & Sizzix die for the letters and a Tim Holtz die for the number 4... added the Good & Plenty candies and there you have it!

For more inspiration be sure to stop by the challenge blog and take a look at the DT fabulous Box creations!

Butterfly Notes

Good morning everyone! Today is (ABaC) Monday over at Bugaboo and this week it's my turn to share a project with you. For my creation I decided to alter a clipboard. It was sooo easy because the clipboard was already covered in this lime green floral paper and it came with a matching pen!! I picked this up at Michaels for $3! I used one of the gorgeous butterfly border images ...cropped and printed out a few extra butterflies. The small scalloped circle in the center is actually a magnet! A very CAS clipboard but I love how it turned out! Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your Monday!

Crafty Notebook

Good morning everyone! Today is Anything But a Card (ABaC) Monday over at Bugaboo and this week it's my turn to share a project with you. So...for today's creation I decided to alter a 5x5 notebook that I found in the $1 bin at Michaels! I used the Dottie Crafting image! I just love this image and knew it was perfect for my notebook! My image is colored with Copics to match my flowery K&Co. dp! The notebook is 100ct...plenty of room to jot down some of my favorite sketches, colors combos or clever sentiments! I don't get out of my comfort zone that much and make ABaC projects ...but I love how this turned out and I had a lot of fun making it...so I'm sure I will make more!!
