Just For You

Good morning everyone!

Today starts a new challenge at Back to Basics and Beyond and the theme is...
Off-The-Edge Stamping!
For my card I decided to use a couple of Vera Lane Studio stamps again :) I love her fun and quirky stamps! The images are colored with Copics and the label sentiment is from Altenew. I created a watercolor wash background with Mowed Lawn and Mermaid Lagoon Oxide inks. Once dry- I randomly stamped a Darkroom Door mesh stamp in Mermaid Lagoon ink and then stamped Carabelle Studio hearts in black ink for my Off-the-edge technique. I used a Pink & Main die for the stitched rounded rectangle, a Lawn Fawn die for the grass and the sequins are from my stash.

That's it for now... thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to pop on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of the teams gorgeous creations!

Ruff day?

Good morning everyone!

Today starts a new challenge at Back to Basics and Beyond and this time we would like you to create a card or project inspired by one of the photos posted on the blog.
This is the photo I used for my inspiration: I went with the cream, red & teal colors, the tile/diamond patterns and the sofa...
and my card features an adorable Helz Cuppleditch image from Stampavie. It's stamped in Ranger Archival Ink, I used a combination of  Zig Brush Markers and Distress Inks to watercolor it and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. I stenciled Fired Brick Distress Oxide ink through Simon Says Stamp Grid stencil for the red panel and I sponged Peacock Feather Oxide ink on the large panel. The stitched rectangles were cut with Avery Elle dies and I used Elizabeth Crafts dies for the flowers, the sequins are from my stash.

I hope you can join us and don't forget to pop on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of the teams beautiful creations!

4th of July Explosion card

Good morning everyone!

Today starts a new challenge at Back to Basics and Beyond and this time we would like you to create a card with an Explosion InsertHere's a quick tutorial if you are not familiar with this type of card.

My card features a cute Uncle Sam image from Pixie Dust Studios- the shop is temporarily closed so it's not available to purchase at this time. It's colored with Copics, the sentiment is from Stampendous and I used Simon Says Stamp dies for the stitched rectangles. Both star papers are from Pebbles, the striped paper and fishtail flag dies are from My Favorite Things.
And for the inside... I used a Stampendous stamp for the stars, Kim Hughes Stamps for the 'American the beautiful' sentiment & fireworks and to finish it up I added a couple of white glitter dots.
I hope you can join us and don't forget to pop on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of the teams beautiful creations!

More nail polish art! :)

Hello everyone!

Today I'm sharing another Nail Polish Art card with you... it's our current challenge over at Back to Basics and Beyond. Please see the previous post if you would like a link to a great tutorial or see my other nail polish art card :)
This time I used 3 colors to create my nail polish marbling... a chartreuse, sky blue and a cheap black and I really like how it turned out! I used Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs stamp set- the images were colored with Copics and the sentiment was heat embossed with white powder. I created the paw print with punches and used a burlap folder for the embossing. I used My Favorite Things dies for the circles and fishtail flag, a Lawn Fawn die for the Zig Zag rectangle and a Sizzix/Tim Holtz die for the double stitched rectangle.

Quinn and Maddie (our fur babies) gave this card to their daddy Sunday for Father's Day and he loved it!

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment!

Nail Polish Art for Dad!

Good morning everyone!

Today starts a new challenge at Back to Basics and Beyond and this time we would like you to create a card/project using the Nail Polish Art Technique!

I've never used this technique before and had so much fun playing with my nail polish... I found this tutorial online- it was very easy to follow and she gives great tips.
I created my nail polish marbling with only two colors- a sky blue and lime green, two of my favorite colors. I really like how the lime green thinned out in some areas and turned a yellowish-green. I used a couple of Vera Lane Studio potted cactus plants again, colored them with Copics and fussy cut them out. I used Simon Says Stamp dies for the stitched rectangles and My Favorite Things dies for the sentiment.

I'm going to give this to my dad Sunday for Father's Day and I know he'll get a real kick out of it when I tell him that I used nail polish for the background! :)

That's it for now... thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to pop on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of the teams beautiful 'Nail Polish' creations!

Triple Stamping... Distressed Flower

Good morning everyone!

Today starts a new challenge at Back to Basics and Beyond and the theme...
is Triple Stamping!

I was not familiar with this technique at all and had a hard time deciding what stamp/stamps to use but after a couple of practice tries this is what I came up with :)
The large distressed flower is from Impression Obsession and the label sentiment is from Altenew... I love this stamp set because it looks like I used a real label maker! Both were stamped with Ranger Archival Ink several times and the stitched rectangle dies are from Simon Says Stamp.

Well, that's it for now... thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to pop on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of the teams beautiful creations!

Kaleidoscope Shrink Plastic Earrings...

Good morning everyone!

Today starts a new challenge at Back to Basics and Beyond and this time we would like you to create a card or project with Shrink Plastic

I've only used shrink plastic one other time so I wasn't sure what I was going to do but after looking online I decided to make a pair of fun earrings! I cut a couple of circles out of the plastic, punched a small hole in each for the jump ring and then stamped them with the awesome Kaleidoscope background stamp from Simon Says Stamp.
I also made a card with the same background stamp... the painted 'thanks' die is from Simon Says Stamp and the Fishtail banner is from My Favorite Things.
Here's a close up of the earrings... I haven't  made any jewelry in such a long time and felt a bit rusty especially with the wire wrapping but I think overall they turned out pretty cute!

Colorful Scribble Flowers

Good morning everyone!

Today starts a new challenge at Back to Basics and Beyond and this time we would like you to create a card/project using a spray
For the base of my card- I laid my Tim Holtz Latticework stencil over a piece of mixed media paper and sprayed it with Tim Holtz Resist Spray. Once dry I sprayed it with Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade sprays. For the flowers- I sponged Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Peeled Paint Distress inks onto scraps of mixed media paper, stamped the fabulous Scribble Flowers from Simon Says stamp and cut them out with the coordinating dies. The sentiments are from Mama Elephant, stamped with VersaFine ink and heat embossed. I had so much fun making this card and I really like how colorful it turned out... it's going to be perfect for one of my nieces!

My card features a cute image from Bugaboo Stamps and I wanted to use pink and white for my 2 colors so I kept the Copic coloring to a minimum and this image is perfect for that!
