Be a Cactus in a Delicate World of Flowers

Good morning everyone!

Today I'm sharing another art journal page and this one is inspired by the Southwest. It features several images from Vera Lane Studio's Succulents bundle... what an awesome digital stamp set- you get several potted cactus plants and three sentiments! Perfect for a cactus lover like me! :)
The images were colored with Copics, cut out and I used one of the sentiments included in the set. The background was created with Lucky Clover, Cracked Pistachio and Broken China Distress Oxide inks. I used Delta's Southwest Stencil for all of the different designs/patterns and a tiny sun stamp from Recollections. I also added detailing with white and black Posca pens.
Well, that's it for now... thanks so much for stopping by!
Take care, Tammy

A wonderful celebration of the South West - Eileen would have loved this. The stencil you used looks great and I really love this colours. So pleased you linked to AJJ, Chrisx

This page is so fun with the variety of green tones and the blues. Digital stamps? Like you print them out and color them? I’m quite clueless when it comes to digital art and stuff. I love that great background you created. Cactus have some of the most gorgeous flowers. But I like the message because we always think of cactus just being prickly.

Fantastic design! While not to the same degree as certain other parts of the world, one can find plenty of (mostly small, short) cactuses around our region of BC, as it's the closest environment to an arid desert in all of Canada. As a result, we have a lot of wild succulents as well and I can never get enough of photographing those that cross my path during the sunny season.

I'm a bit late visiting, Tammy. I also love cacti. The ones you colored are stunning. I even like the sentiment. It's really true. I also love the way you positioned the cacti on a "table" of gorgeous color. Thank you so very much for sharing this incredible entry with us at Art Journal Journey honoring Eileen's theme.

Beautiful card! I love cactus too, we have quite a few on our kitchen window sill. Your design is fabulous, love the green on green and the cactus and patterns remind my of my visits to New Mexico 😁. I hope you've had a lovely week and wishing you a very happy Friday and weekend! Hugs, Jo x

WOW - I can't tell you how much I LOVE this! We have spent a lot of time in New Mexico and generally in the Four Corners area and I love all things SW geometric! That sentiment is awesome and this is one of my favorite "Tammy" color palettes - the blues/jade/emeralds - all mesh perfectly together in a theme that usually sports sand/terra cotta/golds! Fantastic! Have a great weekend and take care!
