Flowers for Mom...

Hello everyone...

Before all of the Mother's Day challenges end I wanted to pop in real quick to share a couple of cards! :)

They feature a beautiful image from Bugaboo Stamps and they were colored with Copics. All edges were distressed and the backgrounds were created with Simon Say Stamp Grid stencil and distress inks.
I used Avery Elle and Pink & Main dies for the stitched rectangles and the sentiments are from Hero Arts and Wplus9 stamp.
That's all for now... thanks so much for stopping by and if you are celebrating Mother's Day tomorrow I hope you have a wonderful day!

Roses for Mom :)

Good morning everyone!

It's time for a new challenge at Sparkles Monthly and this month we want you to use a rubber or clear stamp- so no digital images this time.
This is the card that I gave my mom for Mother's Day and it features a very sweet image out of the 'so loved' stamp set from Penny Black! It's stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa onto cream colored cardstock and colored with Copics. I cut the flowers, circles and hearts with My Favorite Things dies and I used a Whimsy Stamps die for the zig zag rectangle. The papers are from MME and Kaisercraft, all edges were distress with Antique Linen Distress ink and the pearls are from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to pop on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of the teams beautiful cards!

Playing with Paper...

Good morning everyone- I hope you are doing well.

Today I have a couple of Vintage/Shabby Chic Mother's Day cards to share...
A few days ago I was in the mood to just 'play with paper' so I dug out my neglected but loved Graphic 45 Children's Hour collection. I mostly used the months of May and June for my cards and I was on a mission to see how many papers/elements I could put on a A2 card front- And I'm very happy with the way they turned out :)
All of the edges were distressed with Brushed Corduroy ink, I sprayed the first card with Glitter Dust and I added TH Crackle Paint to the second card. There are a few punched butterflies on the pink card and the pearls, twine and lace are from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by- I really appreciate it!
Take care and stay healthy.

Collage card for mom

Good morning everyone!

Today I wanted to share a collage type of card with you... It's my first attempt and I'm pretty happy with it but next time I think I'll use Tim Holtz Collage Medium products because I didn't get the results I wanted with Mod Podge and crackle paint.
Anyway... the background was created with several Tim Holtz Pocket cards, the flowers and butterfly are from a Tim Holtz Ephemera package. Everything was distress with Walnut stain DI and the sentiment was cut out of gold painted cardstock with MFT dies. The tag was cut with a Tim Holtz die and to finish it up I added a twine bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by... I'll see you soon!

Hydrangea card for Mom

Hello everyone!

I have another card to share that I created with the fabulous Simon Says
I pretty much followed the same design as this card... but this time I applied texture paste through the Tim Holtz Burlap stencil- once dry I added Peacock Feather DI and some blue shimmer mist. The hydrangea petals were cut and colored with the same inks and then I stamped the petals randomly with the Darkroom Door mesh stamp. I used a Wplus9 stamp for the word mom and a Avery Elle die for the stitched rectangle... to finish it up I added Caribbean Ocean Crystal Drops to the center of the flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for those who are celebrating Mother's Day on Sunday...
I hope you have a wonderful day!

For my card I decided to use my very old but very loved Riley with Flowers stamp... he's stamped with MFT Black Licorice ink and colored with Copics. I created the flowers with a MFT die and I used a Fiskars punch for the corners. I distressed all of the edges and added some pearls to give it a bit of a Shabby Chic feel :)

Hydrangea Petals

Good morning everyone and happy Friday!

Today I wanted to share a colorful card that I made using the beautiful Hydrangea Petals die from Simon Says Stamp!
To start- I created a watercolor wash/splatter background with Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Aged Mahogany distress inks. I stamped the corners with a Darkroom Door mesh stamp and I used a Wplus9 stamp for the word mom. I cut several Hydrangea Petals, sponged them with the same distress inks and then added Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal drops to the centers.

This card was so fun to make and I really like how it turned out... I can't wait to make another one using different colors, that way I'll have one for my mom and one for my MIL next month for Mother's day! :)

Blossoms for Mom

Happy Saturday everyone!
It's time for a new challenge at Crafty Calendar and this month the theme is...
Blooms and Blossoms!
Our fabulous sponsor is Heather Ellis who provide the images for us to work with!  This is one of Heather's Pure Innocence images, Isn't she a cutie?!!

I wanted to make something a little different so I created this simple pocket card and matching tag!  Usually the tag is larger but I added a packet of seeds and made the tag smaller... that way both will fit in the pocket.  Perfect for our challenge theme and perfect for my mom... I'm going to give this to my mom for Mother's Day along with a few other goodies! :)

Anyway, this sweet image is colored with Copics and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.  The bright yellow paper is from Recollections and the tag was cut with an QuicKuts die. I used a small EK Success punch for the flowers and a Cuttlebug die for the heart... added my hand dyed seam binding and pearls and there you have it!

Make sure you stop by the challenge blog and check out all of the wonderful creations by the other team members!
