Winter Wonderland

Good morning everyone!

A new challenge starts today at Try it on Tuesday and the theme is...
Winter Wonderland!

I made an art journal page to fit a acrylic tabletop flip photo frame. I wanted something compact to sit on my craft desk so each page will be 6.25x5 inches- just slightly smaller than the frame :)

For this page I used the adorable Tim Holtz/Sizzix Cozy Winter dies and the sentiments are from Carta Bella Warm Winter Wishes Set Stamp. I used SSS Falling Snow stencil and Brutus Monroe Alabaster Glitter Glaze for the snowy background.
Here's a close up- Isn't that bear adorable?!! I think this die set can be used for so many projects and themes!
I hope you can join us and don't forget to pop on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of my teammates beautiful creations!

Magical...

Good morning everyone!

It's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and the theme is...
Make it Magical!

I made a Magical Christmas art journal page for my DT project :)
To start- I randomly stamped Penny Black's 'Christmas Story' on a piece of light kraft CS and heat embossed it with gold powder. I also embossed the 'holiday Magic starts from within' sentiment. Then I glued down my torn DP and Vintage Kaisercraft image. I cut the Tim Holtz Elf and Newton's Nook's trees out of green CS and coated them with Glitter Dust Spray. To finish it up I added some gold star sequins.
Here's a close up so you can see the sparkle and gold embossing a little better :)

BOO TIME

Good morning everyone!

A new challenge starts today at Try it on Tuesday and the theme is...
It's All About Time.

I made a fun Halloween art journal page featuring Tim Holtz Silly Monsters and Memory Box spider dies. For the background I used TCW Time Travel stencil, Mowed Lawn & Peeled Paint Distress inks. The dots were stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white powder.
I applied Tim Holtz Crazing Collage Medium through Darkroom Door's Polka Dot stencil in the corners for a little texture, it's very hard to see in the photo but it has a wonderful crackle effect IRL :) I added spider web Washi tape and the sentiment is made using my Dymo label maker.

Autumn is in the Air...

Good morning everyone!

A new challenge starts today at Try it on Tuesday and the theme is...
Autumn Blessings and this time I decided to make an art journal page :)
I created a watercolor wash/splatter background with Distress Oxide inks and a misc. leaf stamp. I cut three ovals for the pumpkin, colored them with ink and then stamped a few flourishes. I used a burlap folder to emboss the ground portion, a Lawn Fawn die for the leaves and a MFT die for swirls- all were colored with Oxide inks. I cut the 'Autumn' word out with a Echo Park die, stamped some extra sentiments and to finish it up I added a orange twine bow and that's about it!

Yellow Blooms...

Good morning everyone!

A new challenge starts today over at Try it on Tuesday and this time we want to see Summer Blooms on your project!

Today I have a colorful Art Journal Page to share with you :) To start- I created a watercolor wash/splatter background with Mustard Seed, Squeezed Lemonade and Lucky Clover DOI. Once dry I added some texture & shine using Crafter's Workshop Shimmery Goodness and MFT Confetti stencil.
The flowers and leaves were cut with MFT dies, colored with Squeezed Lemonade and Lucky Clover ink. Then I stamped the petals randomly with a script stamp and Mustard Seed ink. I used Dina Wakley's collage words for the sentiments and to finish it up I added black sequins to the flowers.
Now head on over to the main challenge blog and check out the fabulous creations by the other team members!

Too cute for words!

Good morning everyone!

Today I have a fun art journal page to share with you featuring my sweet and adorable fur babies! I love these two so much! :)
I created a watercolor wash background with Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Brushed Corduroy Distress inks. I stamped the paw prints using an Inky Antics stamp, the dogs are from Tim Holtz 'Crazy Dogs' stamp set and were lightly colored with Copics. The words are from a piece of 12 x 12 DP, I tore out the words that I wanted and then added distress ink to the edges. To finish my page I added the year and their names using my Dymo label maker.

Well, that's all for now... thanks so much for stopping by!

Be a Cactus in a Delicate World of Flowers

Good morning everyone!

Today I'm sharing another art journal page and this one is inspired by the Southwest. It features several images from Vera Lane Studio's Succulents bundle... what an awesome digital stamp set- you get several potted cactus plants and three sentiments! Perfect for a cactus lover like me! :)
The images were colored with Copics, cut out and I used one of the sentiments included in the set. The background was created with Lucky Clover, Cracked Pistachio and Broken China Distress Oxide inks. I used Delta's Southwest Stencil for all of the different designs/patterns and a tiny sun stamp from Recollections. I also added detailing with white and black Posca pens.
Well, that's it for now... thanks so much for stopping by!

It features a cute image from Vera Lane Studio, she's colored with Copics and the sentiment is computer generated. I created a watercolor wash background with Lucky Clover, Cracked Pistachio and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Inks. I used a Simon Says Stamp stencil for the grass and a MFT stencil with Stickles Moon Dust Glitter Gel for the sun rays.
Here's a close up of the image and some of the sparkle :)

Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful

Good morning everyone, I hope you had a nice weekend!

Today I have another Art Journal page to share with you :)

My background was created by using a smooshing technique with acetate, Victorian Velvet & Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Inks. Once dry- I splattered gold acrylic paint and then heat embossed the sentiment & zigzag stitches with gold powder. I used Tim Holtz Measured stencil and MFT Confetti stencil with Stickles Moon Dust Glitter Gel.
These stylish ladies are from the 'Simplicity Vintage' stamp set from Inkadinkado. I picked this stamp set up in the clearance aisle at Hobby Lobby for $2.50 what a deal! They were stamped with Ranger Coffee ink, cut out and then colored with Copics and glitter/metallic pens.
And here's a close up of the sentiment.
Well, that's it for today... thanks so much for stopping by!

Butterfly Wings...

Hello everyone!

Today I'm sharing my latest Art Journal page and I wanted to incorporate some of my 'Favorite Things' which is the current theme over at Art Journal Journey. A few of my favorite things are... butterflies, creating bright-sparkly backgrounds and coloring... I absolutely love to color especially with my alcohol markers! :)
These cute butterflies are from Jess Volinski's 'Color Animals' coloring book :) I really like all of the images in the coloring book but the pages are very thin so I printed them out on a thicker piece of paper/cardstock. They were colored with Copics, cut out and the sentiment/quote is computer generated. For the background I used Lindy's Magicals, American Craft stencils, Carved Pumpkin DOI, a script stamp and Viva Glitter Paste.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for the comments you leave!

It's the most wonderful time of year.

Good morning everyone!

Today I'm sharing my latest Art Journal page with you. My goal this year was to make a least one AJP per month and I did it! Next year I hope to make more! :)
My page features a cute snowman cut with a Sizzix die and I used a Marianne Design die for the trees. The snowy background was created with Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil, a combination of Glitter Glitz Gel & modeling paste and all of edges were distressed with Antique Linen ink. The red Christmas paper and sentiments are from Tim Holtz and to dress up my snowman I added googly eyes, black gems for the buttons and a tiny black pom pom to his hat! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a

For the background I used these supplies:
Fossilized Amber, Gathered Twigs & Stormy Sky Distress Oxide inks
Light & Fluffy modeling paste & Stickles Moon Dust Glitter Gel
Botanical stencil from American Crafts/Vicki Boutin
Darkroom Door (mesh) stamp & Waffle Flower (November) stamp

SPOOKY BOO!

Good morning everyone!

Today I wanted to share a Halloween Art Journal page with you :)

I created the background using a 'acetate smooshing' technique with Carved Pumpkin and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks. I added Carved Pumpkin ink to modeling paste and stenciled it through Tim Holtz Code stencil. The dots were stamped with a Tim Holtz stamp in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white powder. The monsters were cut with Tim Holtz Silly monsters dies and colored with Wilted Violet DOI.
Below is a better picture of the embossed lines the monster is standing on- they really blend in with the background and the lines on the monsters were stamped using a mesh stamp from Darkroom door.
And there you have it... a very colorful and not too scary Art Journal page! :)
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog today!

Autumn Leaves...

Good morning everyone!

Today I have a 5x7 Autumn Art Journal page to share with you... I can't wait until fall because it's my favorite time of the year!

The background was created with Carved Pumpkin, Fossilized Amber & Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide inks and a couple of leaf stamps. Once dry I added Stickles Moon Dust Glitter Gel through Tim Holtz Burlap Stencil. The leaves were cut with QuicKutz dies, colored with the same DOI colors and then stamped with Stampendous Vintage Note stamp. The large sentiment was cut with a Echo Park die and I used Tim Holtz Tiny Text stamp set for the other sentiments. For added texture I used a small piece of corrugated cardboard and a strip of mulberry paper, which I darken with ink.
Here's a close up- Stickles Moon Dust Glitter Gel gives your project a lot of dimension and shine... I love it! :)

it's always the small pieces...

Good morning everyone!

Today I'm sharing a collage Art Journal Page and it was created with a ton of Tim Holtz products! :) To start- I created a watercolor wash background with Fossilized Amber, Gathered Twigs and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide inks. Once dry- I added some torn Typography tissue paper with matte gel, I let that dry and then added Stickles Moon Dust Glitter Gel through the Thatched stencil. The edges were distressed with Brushed Corduroy distress ink, the tags were cut with Tim Holtz dies and all elements are from Tim Holtz: Botanical chipboard pieces, pocket cards, Snippets and sentiment stickers.
Here's a close up of some of the sparkle... Moon Dust glitter gel is so sparkly IRL!
And another close up- the smaller tag is a pocket so the flower stem would fit inside :)

Go to your Happy Place!

Good morning everyone!

Today I wanted to share my latest Art Journal page...
I found this adorable applique pattern online and thought it was so cute! I printed it out and traced a few of the elements onto some pretty patterned papers, the other shapes were cut out using My Favorite things dies. I used Viva Decor glitter paste & MFT Sunrise Radiating Rays stencil for the sun and MFT dies for the clouds. The stamped sentiment is from Cardz TV and the sentiment stickers are from Tim Holtz. I used a Fisker stamp for the swirls and Antique Linen & Brushed Corduroy ink for the distressing.

In 2017 my husband and I purchased a new RPod camper/trailer! It's only 19 feet long but it has all of the comforts of home, unlike the pop-up trailer we had for 20 years. It has a queen bed, a wet bath, a refrigerator, gas stove and you can't see it in the photos below but on the other side the whole kitchen area slides out! I love it!!! Perfect for 3-4 nights of camping which we do several times a year during the months of May-October. And we have another one coming up real soon :)

Here it is in front of our house, were loading it up and waiting to leave on a trip, I love the retro shape!
And here's another picture, we are getting ready to enjoy a couple of cocktails and if you look closely you can see Quinn sitting near his daddy.
And here's Maddie looking precious in her chair enjoying the mountain air!
Well that's all for now... Thanks so much for stopping by!

Time Flies...

Good morning everyone!

I have a very special Art Journal/Calendar page to share with you today! In less than a week my husband and I will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary!! :)  WOW I can't believe it's been 30years... time really does fly by! I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful man in my life for all of these years!

So for my page this month I wanted to combine our anniversary, the 'Time Flies' theme over at Art-Journal-Journey and lots of mixed media goodies!
My background was created by using a smooshing technique with acetate, Antique Linen & Brushed Corduroy Distress Inks. I stenciled a few clocks using the TCW time travel stencil, added Tim Holtz Melange Tissue Wrap and then randomly added some Viva glitter paste... very hard to see in the photo. I stamped some faux zig zag stitching and a few postage stamps. I used a couple of dies for the vintage clock & love sentiment and added some TH ephemera pieces. The butterflies were coated with TH Crackle paint and the sentiment & date were computer generated.

Well that's it for now- thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog today!

Bloom & Grow...

Hello everyone- Happy Monday!

Today I'm sharing my latest Art Journal/Calendar page with you. And for my page this month I wanted to created a 'May Flowers' themed project and I used the fun Botanical stencil from American Crafts/Vicki Boutin for my inspiration... I love this stencil!
To start- I created my background using a smooshing technique with acetate, Cracked Pistachio & Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide inks. One dry, I stenciled my flowers in Cracked Pistachio ink and then using Altenew snowing stamp I stamped the snow/dots in Abandoned Coral ink. I cut 3 different sizes of circles for the flowers and trimmed them so they would resemble the stenciled flowers. I think they turned out pretty good but the leaves didn't look right placed under the flowers so I glued them under the black centers :)

Well, that's all for today... thanks so much for stopping by!
