BOO TIME

Good morning everyone!

A new challenge starts today at Try it on Tuesday and the theme is...
It's All About Time.

I made a fun Halloween art journal page featuring Tim Holtz Silly Monsters and Memory Box spider dies. For the background I used TCW Time Travel stencil, Mowed Lawn & Peeled Paint Distress inks. The dots were stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white powder.
I applied Tim Holtz Crazing Collage Medium through Darkroom Door's Polka Dot stencil in the corners for a little texture, it's very hard to see in the photo but it has a wonderful crackle effect IRL :) I added spider web Washi tape and the sentiment is made using my Dymo label maker.
I hope you can join us and don't forget to pop on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of my teammates beautiful creations!

Thanks so much for stopping by and for the comments you leave!

Halloween Shaker cards!

Good morning everyone!

A new challenge starts today at Sparkles Monthly and this time we want to see your Shaker Cards!

As mentioned in a previous post... I'm back with my last two cards featuring the fabulous 'Boo Crew' Halloween kit from Simple Stories! Again, I used several papers, stickers, tags and chipboard pieces. I used a SSS stamp die for the stitched rectangle and to create the shaker I used MFT Peek-a-Boo die and a rectangle shaker pouch.
Here's a close up so you can see the shaker/tag portion a little better :) Inside the shaker pouch I used black, orange & star sequins and added twine to the tags.
I hope you can join us and don't forget to pop on over to the main challenge blog for
more inspiration.

I have a very busy week ahead and my computer time will be limited, so I will catch up with you all soon :) Take care and thanks so much for stopping by!

Halloween Bats!

Good morning everyone!

It's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and the theme is Halloween!

I love making Halloween cards so I have a couple of cards to share and they feature my new Bat Crazy dies from Tim Holtz :)
The backgrounds were created with Carved Pumpkin & Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks and I used a circle to mask off the moon. On the first card I added a crackle effect to the moon and on the second card I let the DOI ink drip into the moon to give it a spooky feel. Both cards were splattered with black & white Posca pens and I used a MFT die for the skyline. The die cut cat and Halloween label tape are from Tim Holtz.

Now head on over to the main challenge blog and check out the awesome creations by the other team members!

Thanks so much for stopping by... I'll see you soon :)

Another Card Kit! :)

Good morning everyone!

I'm at it again... playing with my newest paper collection! :) This time it's the 'Boo Crew' Halloween kit from Simple Stories!
This kit was so fun to work with and it included: papers, stickers, tags, chipboard pieces and so much more. I used a number of stitched dies to cut everything out and on the two cards above I added some googly eyes.
I made several cards out of this collection to add to my donation box so I'll be back later this month with a few more cards :) Then, I promise that's it from this kit- well, this year anyway! LOL! I still have so much paper left over!

Enjoy your week and thanks so much for stopping by!

SPOOKY BOO!

Good morning everyone!

Today I wanted to share a Halloween Art Journal page with you :)

I created the background using a 'acetate smooshing' technique with Carved Pumpkin and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks. I added Carved Pumpkin ink to modeling paste and stenciled it through Tim Holtz Code stencil. The dots were stamped with a Tim Holtz stamp in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white powder. The monsters were cut with Tim Holtz Silly monsters dies and colored with Wilted Violet DOI.
Below is a better picture of the embossed lines the monster is standing on- they really blend in with the background and the lines on the monsters were stamped using a mesh stamp from Darkroom door.
And there you have it... a very colorful and not too scary Art Journal page! :)
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog today!
Take care, Tammy x

Lots of Halloween cards :)

Hello everyone!

I've been working on Halloween cards to add to my donation box... so today I wanted to pop in and show you what I've been up to! :)
All papers, ephemera and sentiments are from Pebbles- the Spooky Boo Collection.
I added a piece of vellum behind the ghost image on the card above and other finishing touches include: sequins, enamel dots, staples, googly eyes and Tim Holtz label tape.
These cards were so easy and fun to make and I think they turned out pretty cute. I love using paper collections/kits especially when making several cards at a time and the fact that everything coordinates so well makes putting them together a snap! :)

Well that's it for now- thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog today!

Spooky Owls...

Good morning everyone!

Today I wanted to pop in and share a couple of 5x5 Halloween cards that I made with an older Sizzix Bigz Owl die...
I used several Halloween papers/scraps to create the owls and after the elements were cut out I added Walnut Stain Distress ink to the edges. The kraft cardstock is from Tim Holtz which I sponged Walnut Stain ink over the top so the embossed area would show up better. The spider webs and small spiders were cut with Paper Smooches dies and I used a Memory Box die for the dangling spider.
And that's about it... a little time consuming with all of the paper piecing but I love owls and I think they turned out pretty cute! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Costume Cats...

Good morning everyone and happy Friday!

Today I have a couple of cards to share and they feature cats dressed up for Halloween! :)

On my first card I used the adorable Kit or Treat image from Knitty Kitty Digis and colored it with Copics. The stitched round rectangles were cut with Pink & Main dies, I used Tim Holtz dies for the tiny bats and the sentiment was cut with a Paper Smooches die. All the edges were distressed and to finish it up I added some googly eyes and a little sparkle to the orange areas with a Wink of Stella pen.
And on my second card I used my cute Paper Artsy stamp again :) It's stamped in black licorice ink and colored with Copics. The background was created with Carved Pumpkin and Twisted Citron distress Oxide inks. Once dry, I mixed a little Twisted Citron ink with Moonstone Glimmer Paste and applied it through Newton's Nook bat stencil. The bats were cut with a Paper Smooches die, I used My Favorite Things dies for the sentiment and a Lawn Fawn die for the grass.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Meet Wicked and Trouble :)

Good morning everyone!

A new challenge starts today over at Cardz 4 Galz and the theme is What's New? So we would like to see your newest technique or recent purchase.

I have two Halloween cards to share with you today... they feature my new Tim Holtz Silly Monsters and Halloween Word dies and on my first card I finally gave the 'Distress Resist Spray & Stencil' technique a try. I used TH Lattice Work stencil, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed Distress inks and followed this tutorial... she gives great step-by-step instructions on all of her beautiful cards and backgrounds!
On my second card I used TH Distress Collage medium- Crazing for the first time and Kaisercraft Bubbly stencil, along with the same distress ink colors as above.
The monsters were created using a watercolor smooshing technique with a piece of mixed media paper and Spiced Marmalade ink. Once dry- I cut the monsters out and then stamped them randomly with the Water Droplet background stamp from Deep Red Stamps.
