Winter Wonderland

Good morning everyone!

A new challenge starts today at Try it on Tuesday and the theme is...
Winter Wonderland!

I made an art journal page to fit a acrylic tabletop flip photo frame. I wanted something compact to sit on my craft desk so each page will be 6.25x5 inches- just slightly smaller than the frame :)

For this page I used the adorable Tim Holtz/Sizzix Cozy Winter dies and the sentiments are from Carta Bella Warm Winter Wishes Set Stamp. I used SSS Falling Snow stencil and Brutus Monroe Alabaster Glitter Glaze for the snowy background.
Here's a close up- Isn't that bear adorable?!! I think this die set can be used for so many projects and themes!
I hope you can join us and don't forget to pop on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of my teammates beautiful creations!

Thanks so much for stopping by and for the comments you leave!

Mini Christmas Tags

Good morning everyone!

Today starts a new challenge at Sparkles Monthly and the theme is...
Make it Small
So we want to see: Inchies, ATCs, Bookmarks, Gift Card Holders, Gift Tags and so on... as long as it is SMALL :)
I made some cute little gift tags and I used mostly Tim Holtz products: Christmas Minis dies, tag die, Christmas/Noel paper pad and classic kraft cardstock. The snowman paper is from The Paper Studio and I used a Spellbinders die for the scalloped circle. To finish them up I added twine and a small strip of matching paper inside of each tag and that's about it!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Magical...

Good morning everyone!

It's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and the theme is...
Make it Magical!

I made a Magical Christmas art journal page for my DT project :)
To start- I randomly stamped Penny Black's 'Christmas Story' on a piece of light kraft CS and heat embossed it with gold powder. I also embossed the 'holiday Magic starts from within' sentiment. Then I glued down my torn DP and Vintage Kaisercraft image. I cut the Tim Holtz Elf and Newton's Nook's trees out of green CS and coated them with Glitter Dust Spray. To finish it up I added some gold star sequins.
Here's a close up so you can see the sparkle and gold embossing a little better :)
Now head on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of my teammates beautiful creations!

BOO TIME

Good morning everyone!

A new challenge starts today at Try it on Tuesday and the theme is...
It's All About Time.

I made a fun Halloween art journal page featuring Tim Holtz Silly Monsters and Memory Box spider dies. For the background I used TCW Time Travel stencil, Mowed Lawn & Peeled Paint Distress inks. The dots were stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white powder.
I applied Tim Holtz Crazing Collage Medium through Darkroom Door's Polka Dot stencil in the corners for a little texture, it's very hard to see in the photo but it has a wonderful crackle effect IRL :) I added spider web Washi tape and the sentiment is made using my Dymo label maker.

Halloween Bats!

Good morning everyone!

It's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and the theme is Halloween!

I love making Halloween cards so I have a couple of cards to share and they feature my new Bat Crazy dies from Tim Holtz :)
The backgrounds were created with Carved Pumpkin & Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks and I used a circle to mask off the moon. On the first card I added a crackle effect to the moon and on the second card I let the DOI ink drip into the moon to give it a spooky feel. Both cards were splattered with black & white Posca pens and I used a MFT die for the skyline. The die cut cat and Halloween label tape are from Tim Holtz.

Now head on over to the main challenge blog and check out the awesome creations by the other team members!

Thanks so much for stopping by... I'll see you soon :)

Too cute for words!

Good morning everyone!

Today I have a fun art journal page to share with you featuring my sweet and adorable fur babies! I love these two so much! :)
I created a watercolor wash background with Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Brushed Corduroy Distress inks. I stamped the paw prints using an Inky Antics stamp, the dogs are from Tim Holtz 'Crazy Dogs' stamp set and were lightly colored with Copics. The words are from a piece of 12 x 12 DP, I tore out the words that I wanted and then added distress ink to the edges. To finish my page I added the year and their names using my Dymo label maker.

Well, that's all for now... thanks so much for stopping by!
Take care, Tammy

somebunny loves you...

Good morning everyone!

Today I'm sharing a couple of Easter cards that I made with my new Tim Holtz/Sizzix Carrot Bunny Dies! I think these bunnies are so cute!!

The background on my first card was created with Lindy's Magicals. I used a Lawn Fawn die for the grass and part of an Impression Obsession die for the tulips. I sponged several different colors of Distress Oxide inks onto a heavy watercolor cardstock and then cut out all of the pieces... some were so small!
The background on my second card was created with Distress Oxide inks. Once dry, I stamped the script and postage stamp using a Stampendous stamp set. I used a Simon Says Stamp die for the sentiment and a Cuttlebug die for the flowers.
Here's what the inside looks like on my second card- Stamping Bella and Tim Holtz stamps were used.
These cards took a bit of time to assemble but they were so fun to make! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

A white Christmas...

Good morning everyone!

It's time for a new challenge at Sparkles Monthly and this month we want to see White on White + 1 color if using a sentiment.

I decided to make a couple of quick tags using a Tim Holtz die. On my first tag I applied Gina K. Designs white Glitz Glitter Gel through Tim Holtz Festive stencil. And on my second tag I used Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil with the same glitter gel, Simon Says Stamp Retro Deer die and a Cuttlebug die for the snowflakes. The twine & pearls are from my stash.
I'm not good at photographing all white and no matter what I did I couldn't get a decent picture. So here's a close up so you can see the texture and sparkle a little better. I really like how my first tag turned out and it was so easy to make! :)

SPOOKY BOO!

Good morning everyone!

Today I wanted to share a Halloween Art Journal page with you :)

I created the background using a 'acetate smooshing' technique with Carved Pumpkin and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks. I added Carved Pumpkin ink to modeling paste and stenciled it through Tim Holtz Code stencil. The dots were stamped with a Tim Holtz stamp in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white powder. The monsters were cut with Tim Holtz Silly monsters dies and colored with Wilted Violet DOI.
Below is a better picture of the embossed lines the monster is standing on- they really blend in with the background and the lines on the monsters were stamped using a mesh stamp from Darkroom door.
And there you have it... a very colorful and not too scary Art Journal page! :)
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog today!
Take care, Tammy x

it's always the small pieces...

Good morning everyone!

Today I'm sharing a collage Art Journal Page and it was created with a ton of Tim Holtz products! :) To start- I created a watercolor wash background with Fossilized Amber, Gathered Twigs and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide inks. Once dry- I added some torn Typography tissue paper with matte gel, I let that dry and then added Stickles Moon Dust Glitter Gel through the Thatched stencil. The edges were distressed with Brushed Corduroy distress ink, the tags were cut with Tim Holtz dies and all elements are from Tim Holtz: Botanical chipboard pieces, pocket cards, Snippets and sentiment stickers.
Here's a close up of some of the sparkle... Moon Dust glitter gel is so sparkly IRL!
And another close up- the smaller tag is a pocket so the flower stem would fit inside :)

Time Flies...

Good morning everyone!

I have a very special Art Journal/Calendar page to share with you today! In less than a week my husband and I will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary!! :)  WOW I can't believe it's been 30years... time really does fly by! I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful man in my life for all of these years!

So for my page this month I wanted to combine our anniversary, the 'Time Flies' theme over at Art-Journal-Journey and lots of mixed media goodies!
My background was created by using a smooshing technique with acetate, Antique Linen & Brushed Corduroy Distress Inks. I stenciled a few clocks using the TCW time travel stencil, added Tim Holtz Melange Tissue Wrap and then randomly added some Viva glitter paste... very hard to see in the photo. I stamped some faux zig zag stitching and a few postage stamps. I used a couple of dies for the vintage clock & love sentiment and added some TH ephemera pieces. The butterflies were coated with TH Crackle paint and the sentiment & date were computer generated.

Well that's it for now- thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog today!

Christmas Bird...

Good morning everyone!

It's time for a new challenge at Sparkles Christmas and this month we want to see ribbon, twine or lace on your project.
My card features a couple of new die sets... Feathered Friends by Tim Holtz/Sizzix and Woodland Wreath by Spellbinders. I cut everything out of watercolor paper and colored them with a combination of Distress Inks & MozArt Brush pens.
I really had fun working with these dies and I can't wait to make more cards especially in different colors! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to pop on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of the teams beautiful cards.

Santa's Little Helper...

Good morning everyone!

Today I'm sharing a couple of Christmas cards that I created with Tim Holtz  products... I used 'Santa's Helper' dies, 8x8 Christmas paper pad and Walnut Stain Distress ink.
I made several of these and I'm so proud of myself because they are flat and require no extra postage!! :) The base is a beautiful oatmeal color of kraft cardstock and on these two I used a glittery black cs for the elf and some silver mirror cs on the first one. I also used a black velvet cs on a few of the elves and they turned out so pretty IRL but were hard to photograph.
These were so fun to make and I really like how they turned out and no stamping was involved!

I'm not sure if I will post again before Christmas... so I wanted to wish you all a very
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
And thanks so much for stopping by... I truly appreciate the comments you leave.

Witchy Woman...

Good morning everyone!

Today I have a fun card to share and it features several Halloween dies from Tim Holtz :)
I lightly stenciled a piece of gray cardstock with black ink through The Crafters Workshop tree branch stencil and then cut it out with a Avery Elle die. I cut the moon and 'Trick or Treat' sentiment out of mixed media paper and added Spiced Marmalade Oxide ink... to finish it up I added a few tiny bats and that's about it!

I hope you have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Birthday Butterflies...

Good morning everyone!

Today I have a couple of mixed media cards to share with you... they feature a beautiful butterfly from Tim Holtz/Sizzix. They were stamped in black ink, heat embossed with clear power and watercolored with Distress inks. For the backgrounds I started with a piece of Tim Holtz Melange Tissue Wrap and then I got a little crazy with all of my mixed media goodies! Between the two cards I had used gesso, acrylic paint, crackle paste, Nuvo Glimmer paste, Distress inks & Distress crayons, a couple of stencils and several stamps :)

They were really fun to make and I love how this card turned out...
and I'm pretty happy with the one below but I applied too much glimmer paste through my stencil and you can't really see the shape of the yellow circles but IRL this card is super sparkly! I used a Pink & Main die for the 'celebrate' sentiment and a Avery Elle die for the stitched rectangles. The label sentiments are from Altenew & Studio Katia and the stamped circles are from Simon Says Stamp and Carabelle Studio.
Well, that's all for now... thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog today!

Vintage Botanical Cards...

Good morning everyone!

Today I'm sharing a couple of cards that I created with Tim Holtz Botanical chipboard pieces...

On this card I added Crazing Collage Medium over the flowers, once dry I rubbed some gold acrylic paint into the cracks. The yellow panel was created with Tim Holtz Resist Spray, Simon Says Stamp Grid stencil and Mustard Seed distress ink. The stitched rectangles are also from Simon Says Stamp and to finish it up I added gold and copper sequins.
On my second card I added a coat of Matte collage medium over the flowers, a little white acrylic paint to the background paper and some gold acrylic paint to the die cut sentiment. I used Avery Elle dies for the postage stamp frame and rectangle, all papers are from MME and I used Walnut Stain & Vintage Photo inks for the distressing.
Enjoy your day and thanks so much for stopping by!

More nail polish art! :)

Hello everyone!

Today I'm sharing another Nail Polish Art card with you... it's our current challenge over at Back to Basics and Beyond. Please see the previous post if you would like a link to a great tutorial or see my other nail polish art card :)
This time I used 3 colors to create my nail polish marbling... a chartreuse, sky blue and a cheap black and I really like how it turned out! I used Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs stamp set- the images were colored with Copics and the sentiment was heat embossed with white powder. I created the paw print with punches and used a burlap folder for the embossing. I used My Favorite Things dies for the circles and fishtail flag, a Lawn Fawn die for the Zig Zag rectangle and a Sizzix/Tim Holtz die for the double stitched rectangle.

Quinn and Maddie (our fur babies) gave this card to their daddy Sunday for Father's Day and he loved it!
