GDT for Crafting by Design!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I'm very excited to be posting today as the Guest Designer for Crafting by Design!

The challenge is 'Silhouettes' and I have a couple of cards to share with you...
These came together very quick because I had the backgrounds done already! When playing with watercolors or Distress inks to create a background I usually make several at a time, put them in a folder and then they are ready to use for another card! :)

For the card on the left- I used the 'Salt Technique' with watercolors and coarse sea salt, I stamped the Hero Arts Starburst image in VersaFine Onyx ink and heat embossed with clear powder. The green background was created using Mowed Lawn Oxide DI and Rangers Old School Number stencil. The Agapanthus is from Stampendous and the sentiments are from Tim Holtz.

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to pop on over to Crafting by Designs to join the fun... I'll see you tomorrow.

Scary Cat

Hello everyone and Happy Thursday!

Just a quick post today to share a Halloween card that I made...
I created my background panel with the fun Stampendous Haunting stamp... it's stamped on kraft cs with VersaMark ink, dusted with brown chalk and then I added some faux stitching to the edges with a Bo Bunny stamp. For the cat I used the Sizzix Scary Cat die, the ghosts were cut with Memory Box dies and I used a MS punch for the bat. The moon was embossed with the CB D'vine Swirl folder and to finish it up I added a tiny gem for the cat's eye.

Well, that's it for today... thanks so much for stopping by and for all of the wonderful comments you leave!

Let's Zentangle!

Good morning everyone and Happy Friday!

It's Alphabet Challenge time and today's letter is... Z for Zentangle!

Now, I have no idea how to Zentangle but I gave it a try anyway and here's my card...
I started by stamping the background with the Stampendous 'Dream Text' stamp & VersaMark ink and then dusted it with chalk. I used a couple different sizes of Sakura Micron pens to create the image... oh and a little help from a Flow Chart ruler :o) I used it to draw the outline of the flowers and leaves... then, I went back and added a few basic zentangle patterns. I have to admit, it was very fun and I even like how funky my hand-drawn butterflies turned out! Next, I colored the image with a couple of Sharpie markers... I didn't want to use my Copics on VersaMark ink... added the twine and button and it's done!

Now head on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of the DT
fabulous cards!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Mummy's best Friend

Happy Friday everyone!

I wanted to pop in today and share a Halloween card that I made with the fun "Mumeek" image from Stampendous...
It's stamped (twice) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics... I wanted an extra image so I could 'pop' up a few of the elements. I used purple chalk ink (Studio g) to sponge in the clouds, the lamppost was cut with a Tim Holtz die and I used a MS punch for the bats. For the moon- I cut a small circle out with a nestie, embossed it with the CB Distressed Stripes folder and then added a touch of chalk (EK Sucsess Chalklet) to the embossing to make it stand out a little more! :)

Well, that's all for today- thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a

Happy Halloween!

Good morning everyone!
It's time for a new challenge at Moving Along With The Times!
This week it's Sue's turn to host the challenge and she chose the fabulous theme...
NO Designer Paper!!

For my card I used the adorable "Mumeek" image from Stampendous... it's stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copics.  The background is embossed with the Darice Brick Wall folder and I used a MS punch for the bats.  The sentiment is from Stamping Bella and it's cut out with a MFT die.  I've added Vintage Photo distressed ink to the brick background and all of the edges... the jute and gems are from my stash.

I think this is the first time I've made a Halloween card without using any black at all... just orange and kraft cardstock... and I love the way it turned out!  I'll have to try it again
next year! :)

For more inspiration be sure to stop by the challenge blog and take a look at the DT gorgeous creations!

That's it for now... but I will be back Saturday with another card.

Halloween cards for OWH

Good morning everyone!
Today I wanted to share a few Halloween cards that I included in my last package
to OWH!
The first group of cards were sooo fun to make... because my best friend helped with the assembly!  I had everything cut out, stamped and ready to go and then we went to town!  It was such a fun day and I loved the extra help!
Thank you Karen!!
Here are the 20 cards that we made...
and a close up! :)
Very quick and easy cards and no coloring was involved... perfect for making multiple cards and I finally got a chance to use my new Memory Box dies... the Ghost Trio and Dangling Spider!  I love these dies!

Cards For Heroes Memorial Day Blog Hop!

I started making cards for Cards For Heroes in February of this year.  My twin brother, step-sister, uncle, cousin and grandpa all served in the military!  I knew instantly that I needed to join this group of wonderful card makers whom support our nation's armed forces by sending blank greeting cards for them to write in and send back home to their loved ones. I know it will bring a smile to their face when they receive a handmade card in the mail! For this card I printed a b/w image from this website. I colored the image with pencils. The sentiment is from Stampendous. Thank you for stopping by!

For You Grandma

Well it's time to start a blog... because I want to participate in the Cards for Heroes Bloghop on the 23 of May.  So here is my first post.  I made this card for my 96 year old Grandma! She loves getting mail. The image is from Stampendous and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. I colored the image with Koh-i-noor pencils and used a paper stump and baby oil for blending.
